Introduction

During the summer of 2016, I joined Axxess as a User Experience Design Intern. One of my major projects was to redesign company’s flagship product Agencycore. Agencycore is a web-based home health product that aiming to empower healthcare agencies to provide the best care for their patients. I conducted usability test among nurses and caregivers and prototyped mockups from wireframes to high-fidelity designs. I’m proud that AgencyCore has been updating recently and my works can be developed. And thank you my team, our great collaboration on design and front-end development have made the product refreshed and satisfying our customers successfully.

Redesign Objective

AgencyCore helps home health clinicians make documentation easier and replaces paperwork completely. It is a complex product for its powerful functionalities including clinical scheduling, healthcare assessment, medication management and so on. Also, it demands a high degree of data visibility for the job to be done. After understanding the product from a high-level, I discussed with the design team and PM to set the goals of redesign.

Design Strategies

Due to the complexity of the system, there are hundreds of pages in total waiting to be updated within three months. Also, offering something completely new can be risky, especially in healthcare context. Facing these two challenges, we decided to blueprint our strategies before design.

The Refreshed Experience

We repainted the entire UI for 6 selected master views by replacing the skeuomorphic design with light weighted style in both visual and interaction.
